The holiday season is upon us and it’s time to take stock of what matters most. Faith, community and compassion are the reason for the season. Maverick Home Remodeling, Inc. is just one part of our great community, and we are using this blog as an opportunity to highlight other parts of our community that exemplify the values we believe matter year-round. Most people know The Arc as the place to donate used goods. With good reason, it’s a large portion of how The Arc makes their funding. However, most don't know what the main purpose of The Arc is. For the Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties of The Arc, they promote inclusion for people with developmental disabilities through advocacy, education, resources, community-building, policy change, and family support. This chapter assists individuals and their caregivers with issues related to education, health care, residential options, employment and more.

In Castle Rock, Promise Ranch Therapies & Recreation is serving and empowering our community, including people with differing abilities, veterans and families through healing with animals and the experiential nature of the ranch. Its mission is to enrich our community through connection and inclusion with equine-related services like adaptive riding and their veteran and active duty horsemanship class and their mental health therapies. With its PATH Int’l. Certified Instructors, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants, Mental Health Counselors and Speech-Language Pathologists, Promise Ranch serves up to 90 riders each week. WeeCycle is a Colorado-based nonprofit with donation locations in multiple places in Colorado. By recycling essential baby gear and matching it to Colorado families in need, Weecycle helps our most vulnerable community members. Through partner organizations, like Advocates for Children-CASA and Hope In Our City, who focus on alleviating homelessness, domestic violence, teen pregnancy and under-employment, WeeCycle donated and coordinated baby gear keeps children clean and safe and contributes to a healthier environment for their future.
