WINE: WE. LOVE. WINE. Did you know that Colorado has it’s very own wine country? That’s right! With our cool evening climate and over 300 days of sunshine, Colorado is an ideal place to grow some delicious grapes. Why else would we have over 100 wineries in our state? Now your wine tour will take you on a road trip throughout our state but it’s well worth the trip! Explore Colorado’s wine country by visiting the list below.

And to stock up on your favorite varieties, check out the vast selection of wine at Tipsy’s Liquor World (http://tipsysliquorworld.com/) off of Bowles Ave. and C470. And right here in Ken Caryl, we have Black Arts Cellars (http://www.bacellars.com/) ran by local winemakers John and Liz Cowperthwaite. They are super fun people and their wines are award winning!
MARGARITAS: Do you know why people are obsessed with the margarita? Because it balances four of the five human tastes. According to the thrillist, the human taste bud can identify five different tastes: salty, sweet, bitter, sour and umami. The delicious margarita satisfies four of these tastes: the salty rim of the glass, the sweetness of the agave, the bitterness of the tequila, and the sourness of the lime. When you take a sip of a margarita the salt rim cuts the bitterness of the lime and tequila and draws out the sweet and sour making it an incredibly delicious libation - that, and for some reason tequila just makes everyone happy! Cue up Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville”!
We do love a good margarita and have always enjoyed one... or two... on the large patio at Carlos Miguel’s (https://carlosmiguels.com/) on South Kipling Parkway just north of C470. Why not celebrate National Margarita Day with a round of margaritas? When you drink it, think of all of those taste buds activating!
