March 22nd, 2021 officially marks the United Nations World Water Day. This year the focus is on the value of water, specifically what water means to each of us as humans that inhabit this beautiful planet of ours. So what a better way to not only talk about how important water is in the home, but how incredibly fortunate we are to live in this beautiful state. Colorado happens to be a headwater state and the origin of four major river basins, which supply water to seventeen downstream states and two countries. Now that’s worth recognizing!

Not only do we love and appreciate this incredible resource we are lucky to have so close to home, but we also understand the luxury we are allotted while recognizing the work that is being done across the world to provide others with safe, clean and affordable water. The United Nations (“UN”) is celebrating this World Water Day by hosting a virtual ceremony. To join, click on the link below:

So it begs the question, what does water mean to us? Well, quite honestly, it means EVERYTHING. Water happens to be one of the most important substances on our planet. We must have water to survive - all life must have water to survive. So, it’s pretty dang important.

But water is also important in your home. Just think about how often you use water. You use it to wash your hands, wash your clothes, brush your teeth, shower, cook, water your plants and even wash your car. Most of these activities happen every day, multiple times a day. So, accessibility to water in and outside of your home is something not to be overlooked.

Now most, if not all homes, in our community will have accessible water in and outside of the home. But does the location make sense and are you utilizing the best features when it comes to having water in your home. When remodeling your home, it’s critical to always consider running water... particularly those rooms in your home that require it, like your bathroom, laundry room and kitchen. It’s also worth noting that rooms with running water are the rooms with the highest return on investment. So, understanding and investing in these key rooms makes sense... or should I say, “cents!”

Designing features to best utilize and even conserve this precious resource in your dwelling is something you will be happy you spent time on. Working with a qualified and certified contractor, like Maverick Home Remodeling, Inc., will help you create that oasis you call home that makes you say, “H2-OHHHH YEAH!”
