And we’re back! This time we’re focusing on a recent home remodel in Ken Caryl, Colorado that proved to be quite colorful in regards to the challenges we faced after opening up walls. As we’ve said before, you never really know what obstacles may arise and What lurks behind the wall can be either a great surprise or a challenging opportunity. In this case, it was both! We love a good challenge and are always pleased by how proactive our team is in solving surprises. So let’s dive in, shall we?

Home Renovations That Even Santa Would Approve Of

HO HO HO & Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals! It’s that time of year again when Santa Claus reigns and we overload our bellies with sweet treats. Suffice to say, it’s our favorite time of year. And, if you grew up like most children throughout the world, then you’re familiar with Santa’s naughty and nice list. Depending on your behavior, you either land on the naughty side or nice side of the list. This year we want to make sure, when it comes to your home renovations, that you land on Santa’s nice list! You wouldn’t want a stocking full of coal for Christmas. So, what are some home renovations that Santa would approve of? Well, let’s dive into some HO HO HOME IMPROVEMENT, shall we?

We’re going to break down Santa’s favorite home renovations by focusing on the main areas that affect that jolly guy in the red suit… The fireplace, living / great room, kitchen and bathroom. Let’s start with Santa’s entry into your home.

Featured In-Progress Remodel #2130 by Project Manager, Paul Moore

If you follow Maverick, you know we love to share our amazing home remodels to help you feel inspired for your very own home remodeling projects. Well, we’re back with a current home remodeling project in progress that you will love!

This home remodeling project in Littleton, Colorado, consists of a full kitchen remodel, a family room remodel, a brand new powder room, a new large pantry, and a dream mudroom with two entrances, one from the garage and the other from the front door.

The original architectural design of the house is unique, to say the least. Not only are there octagon-shaped rooms in the kitchen and family room, but there are also angles in the walls that connect to the ceiling, which drastically shortened the height of the room. Our original plan was to open up the kitchen area as much as possible by removing a wall and allowing for 10-foot high ceilings creating a clear view of the family room.

With an established goal of raising the kitchen ceilings, the demo quickly began. Well, you can imagine our surprise when we discovered a scissor truss ceiling above the kitchen!

What Makes The Perfect Holiday Kitchen

Seasons Greetings! Celebrations are upon us - time to enjoy the holidays surrounded by family, friends, gifts, food, libations, and more. The key to staying stress-free is by maximizing and prepping space ahead of time! And it starts in the kitchen.

The kitchen is the heart of the home, especially at Christmas time. It provides much more than sustenance, it's a space to gather for family fun and make emotional connections. Holiday guests usually equate to extra mouths to feed and larger meals (which means larger messes.)

To help you get ready, here’s a list of our best tips to get your kitchen ho-ho-holiday-ready. Check it once, check it twice…

Some of Our Favorite Projects

Since 2002, NARI (The National Association of the Remodeling Industry) has commemorated National Home Improvement Month each May to celebrate home improvement and make it easier for homeowners to find qualified experts. To celebrate, here are some of our favorite remodels from over the years. Get inspired!

Featured Remodel #2112 by Project Manager, Paul Moore

Not all home construction projects are created equally! Some are quick and easy, like a kitchen backsplash or wallpaper removal; others, not so much. Recently, we completed a home remodeling project, #2112, which happens to fall in the latter category. This home remodel consisted of a kitchen remodel, a fireplace facelift, family and dining room updates, a master bathroom remodel, an additional window installation, and a laundry room addition in the unfinished basement. Whew! Quite the remodel - Challenge accepted! Read below about the journey we took to help these homeowners realize their exact vision.

A Kitchen Nightmare On Your Street

Let's creep it real. Kitchens can be a real nightmare to remodel. When you commit to a complete remodel, it usually makes a whole chunk of your house unusable. You might have to live in the basement (or, worse, Elm Street). Since the beginning of the pandemic, home remodels have become all the rage. Staying in is the new going out. Do you believe that people can dream what's going to happen? Because Freddie isn't the only one interested in turning dreams into reality. At Maverick Home Remodeling, we like making your dreams come true. Remodeling dreams; not the kind that requires a crucifix.

Getting Creative With Kaye Puckett

July 4th Maverick Essentials

It’s time to CELEBRATE Independence Day! And after a year of almost no celebrations, the time has come to light up the grill, crack open a beer, watch fireworks, blast Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” and relax!

The Fourth of July is a national holiday we recognize each year to mark America’s Independence Day. It’s the time of year that family and friends come together to share and appreciate the freedoms we have today while also celebrating the love we all share for our country.

Our Maverick Fur Family

Today, June 25th, marks National Take Your Dog to Work Day! And while we can’t have our pups on our job sites, we CAN celebrate all of our Maverick dogs by sharing photos.

But before we all share pictures, we must first share in a laugh at Adam Berlin’s expense!

Celebrate National Home Improvement Month with Maverick!

Recognizing Home Improvement since 2002

Every year since 2002, our industry has celebrated National Home Improvement Month throughout the month of May. The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), has led this initiative to celebrate the home remodeling industry while creating an environment to help homeowners find experts to assist them in their very own remodeling journey.

Maverick Behind The Scenes

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a home remodel? Us too!

Just kidding! We know a thing or two about home remodeling. And when you think that BTS is a film-only thing, think again! A lot goes on behind the scenes of a home remodel and you’d be surprised at how organization, communication and dedication play an incredible role in the success of a home remodeling project. It’s kind of like a movie score.

We recently wrapped up a home remodeling project in our hometown, Littleton, Colorado. This project was an absolute gem including the homeowners! Not only did the project go smoothly with limited issues, we finished the remodel almost a month earlier than anticipated.

Realistic Construction Timelines | 2021 Edition

It goes without saying, people were VERY ready to kick off 2021! The feeling of a New Year brings about many new opportunities including a reset on the previous year. The ability to make New Year’s Resolutions, or what we like to call, New Year’s Commitments is refreshing. But as we entered 2021, we started feeling the impact of the previous year’s experiences.

1 Sheep 2 Sheep...

One sheep,
two sheep,
three sheep,
four sheep,
five sheep,
six sheep,
seven sheep

Ahhhh sleep. Who doesn’t LOVE a good night's sleep? We certainly do. How about you?

H2-OHH YEAH

March 22nd, 2021 officially marks the United Nations World Water Day. This year the focus is on the value of water, specifically what water means to each of us as humans that inhabit this beautiful planet of ours. So what a better way to not only talk about how important water is in the home, but how incredibly fortunate we are to live in this beautiful state. Colorado happens to be a headwater state and the origin of four major river basins, which supply water to seventeen downstream states and two countries. Now that’s worth recognizing!
