Ahhhh sleep. Who doesn’t LOVE a good night's sleep? We certainly do. How about you?

The National Sleep Foundation has dedicated this week, March 14th - 20th 2021, Sleep Awareness Week. According to their website (https://www.thensf.org/sleep-awareness-week/), Sleep Awareness Week was officially launched in 1998 as a campaign which celebrates sleep health and encourages the public to prioritize sleep to improve health and well-being.

Sleep is essential for optimum health, wellness and performance. Much like eating healthy and exercising, sleep is an important element of your overall health. When you sleep, you give your body the opportunity and the NEED for rest and reset. Better sleep equates to better productivity and concentration, increased athletic performance, helps to prevent depression and weight gain, builds a stronger immune system, lowers your risk of heart disease, and so much more. Overall, sleep is outrageously important!

So, how can you count less sheep at night? Focus on the comfort of your bedroom. Here’s where we can help!

As a general contractor specializing in home remodeling, renewing your bedroom space for optimum sleep is what we do! Take a look at some of the important items we consider when designing and remodeling your bedroom:

Bedroom Design

  • Does your current bedroom have a weird layout? Is your bed directly under a window due to poor placement of your window? Many bedroom designs are not conducive to good sleep.

Storage

  • Is your Christmas Tree under your bed? Are your clothes piled beside your nightstand because your closet is too small? Clutter around your room can increase stress and anxiety, which in turn causes poor sleep.

Noise

  • Do you hear everything when you sleep? Soundproofing your bedroom might be exactly what you need.

Cool Air

  • Feeling too hot or too cold when you sleep can keep you up at night. Understanding the best placement for windows, air vents, ceiling fans and even a gorgeous fireplace will provide you with the perfect temperature to sleep.

Lighting

  • Having proper lighting in your bedroom is an essential. Are outlets placed ideally for lamps? Do you have dimmer switches?  Maybe a timer to turn off the lights?

Master Bathroom

  • We had to throw this in. Having a luxurious bathroom will only make everything better.

Stop counting sheep and instead focus on creating a bedroom that is designed for better sleep!
