July 4th Maverick Essentials

It’s time to CELEBRATE Independence Day! And after a year of almost no celebrations, the time has come to light up the grill, crack open a beer, watch fireworks, blast Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” and relax!

The Fourth of July is a national holiday we recognize each year to mark America’s Independence Day. It’s the time of year that family and friends come together to share and appreciate the freedoms we have today while also celebrating the love we all share for our country.

THIS YEAR, we would like to share in some Maverick essentials to celebrate the holiday!

THE MAVERICK COOKOUT:

Who doesn’t love a delicious BBQ? We bring out all of the traditional BBQ foods - hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips, baked beans, potato salad, grilled veggies and much more. But have you had Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers?  No???  You can thank us later for the recipe below:

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

  • 12 - 24 jalapeño peppers, halved to the tip, seeds and membranes removed

  • 1 - 2 packages of bacon (who doesn’t love extra bacon?)

  • 1 package (8oz) of cream cheese room temperature

  • 1 Avocado

  • 3 Garlic Cloves minced

  • A dash of smoked paprika

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Toothpicks for holding - but make em festive!

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 400 degree F (200 degree C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to catch drippings.

Step 2:

Mix cream cheese, avocado, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl - set aside. Cut all jalapeno peppers in half while leaving the top “head” intact. Stuff both sides of each jalapeno pepper with cream cheese mixture then wrap each stuffed pepper with a slice of bacon. Arrange the bacon-wrapped peppers on the baking sheet.

Step 3:

Bake in the oven until the bacon is crispy, about 15 minutes.

GAMES, GAMES, GAMES

This is just a given - no holiday is complete without a game or two. Take a look at some of our favorite outdoor games.
