10 Home Remodeling Trends We Predict For 2025

We’ve got one word to describe 2025 - Renew. Okay, we’re pretty partial to that word, but we do actually think 2025 will be all about renewing your life. There’s a reason why we say, “Renew Your Life, Renew Your Home.” To us, they go hand in hand over the last 20 years serving our community. When you renew your home, you renew your life!

In the spirit of renewing your home, we’d like to share the 10 Home Remodeling Trends that we predict for 2025. Let’s dive in!

Sustainable & Eco-Friendly With a Focus on Wellness

Utilizing sustainable and eco-friendly building materials has been a growing trend for several years now. It’s so on trend, that we’ve added it to the top of our list for the third year in a row. Sustainable and eco-friendly materials reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions. Harvesting these sustainable materials produces less waste and leads to a lower negative impact on our environment.

Not only that, there are several health benefits to utilizing sustainable and eco-friendly materials throughout your home. Utilizing non-toxic, organic, sustainable and eco-friendly materials leads to better indoor air quality while also helping our environment - and who doesn’t love that?

Going a step further, Energy Efficient Appliances and lighting lead to lower energy consumption  which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to a healthier planet which leads to optimal wellness!

Minimalism - But Make it Cozy

The opposite of maximalism, minimalism is an aesthetic of simplicity. Only in 2025, we go a step further with cozy minimalism. If you’re like us and hear the word cozy, you likely think of warmth - and that’s exactly what this is - a space that is clutter-free, calm, and functional but focuses on warm palettes, warm lighting, natural materials and character. This space is inviting, comfortable, and cozy without being overwhelming. Check out a great example from a recent remodel of ours!

Bring The Outdoors In

This one remains on our list for 2025 and will likely always be on it! Year after year Colorado homeowners bring nature into their home remodel through recycled materials and natural elements like reclaimed wood, stone, plants and sunlight. In fact, one of the best benefits of living in our beautiful state is the inspiration you can draw from your outdoor adventures. At Maverick, we love incorporating natural elements into our home remodels. You can read more on that here. Need convincing? Be sure to check out some of our galleries to see how we’ve brought the outdoors inside!

Multi-functional Rooms

Multi-functional rooms have been a hot trend for several years and they aren’t going anywhere. Why? Because life in 2025 demands it! Plus, homeowners are always looking for ways to use their space effectively and efficiently. There are many areas in the home with crossover uses like the garage, a wet room (more on that below in our Home Spa-Oasis prediction), the Cloffice, and much more. We believe in this trend so much that we wrote a blog all about it. Check out, Setting Up Multifunctional Rooms to read more on this trend!

Fun With Color

In 2025, we expect to see more pops of color, whether it's with wallpaper, a bold accent wall or a large kitchen island. In fact, we recently completed a remodel that featured a gorgeous custom sea foam green kitchen island. Take a look below!

2025 is all about bringing the color in, but with a focus on tranquility. What does that mean? It means muted colors, hushed tones, colors drawn from nature and shades of brown that are to die for. Did we mention soft sage? Choosing the perfect color palette for your home can be daunting, but we’re here to help. Check out our blog on “How to Choose the Right Color Palette for Your Home.

Home Spa Oasis

In Colorado we are fortunate to have access to luxurious spa-like escapes like Glenwood Hot Springs and Strawberry Park Hot Springs in Steamboat. But, what if you could bring the hot springs home? The bathroom is undoubtedly among the most used spaces in any home, so it should be a place you enjoy. 2025 is all about taking your bathroom from blah to SPA!

So, what makes a spa oasis? Lucky for you, we’ve written all about that as well. Take a gander here. Suffice it to say, you’ll be ready to “jump” into your new luxurious bathtub immediately. But don’t jump too hard, you’ll get water everywhere. Oh wait, that’s okay if you also add in a Wet Room!

What is a Wet Room? Simply put, a wet room is a bathroom or shower that has been completely tanked and has a shower area that is the same level as the rest of the floor. We absolutely love them, and you will too. Take a look at some previous Wet Room remodels below!

No matter your square footage, we can help you create the perfect relaxing retreat in your own home.

Smart Homes

As technology advances exponentially, we’re seeing more homeowners incorporate “smart” devices to automate tasks all through remote access. These technological hubs allow you to control your interior and exterior lights, indoor temperature, security and entertainment all from your phone.

As technology advances, so too, does your home automation. We can predict that 2025 will be all about efficiency and automation. And, as a bonus, all these exciting devices can be installed during a traditional remodel. What does that mean? It means we can do it! Need a key to get in your front door? Not anymore! Need to get up to turn on the AC? Nope!

Hop on the technology train and upgrade your home!

Personality

2025 is all about adding in personality. What does that mean? It means being intentional about how design, function, flow, materials, lighting, paint, customizations, and decor represents you. You want your home to make a statement and really speak to who you are as a person, a couple, and a family. Our recommendation? Don’t shy away from the details. A previous client of ours, both Geologists, wanted to incorporate materials from their travels and their work into their remodel, and we did just that. Take a look below!

Let The Light In

We can predict that 2025 will be all about light! Not only will it be about letting in more natural light, it will also be about incorporating statement lighting both inside and outside the home. What is statement lighting? Statement lighting incorporates lighting fixtures that are eye-catching and become a feature of the room. Over the years, we’ve incorporated several lighting pieces that are a feature of the room. We see large chandeliers, wall sconces, pendants, accent lights and more making quite a splash in 2025.

Outdoor Living

We predict a fairly large uptick in outdoor living in 2025. Over the last several years the idea of expanding one's living space to the outdoors has become incredibly popular, and that trend is not stopping anytime soon, especially in outdoor-loving Colorado! Our team has worked on several outdoor spaces as part of the larger project and predict we’ll see many more requests for outdoor kitchens, entertainment areas, outdoor bars, fire pits and more. And don’t fret, these spaces can be used all-year round with climate-control and more.

So which of these trends will you try in 2025? Remember that trends are motivators. But at the end of the day, YOU choose which trends fit into your desired remodeling project. It’s also an element of Maverick that sets us apart - we focus on what you want and need while guiding you on the trends that suit YOUR remodeling project. As we mentioned, we like to say “renewing YOUR life by renewing YOUR home” - and we do just that!
